Stop the Madness

Okay, it's been a while since I wrote. It's been a busy summer and flying by so far. Football season is just around the corner and as of a few weeks ago I was excited about it because of a new era for the Packers. Now the Favre saga. Are you sick of hearing about it yet? I know I am ready for football to be played no matter who the quarterback is. What a huge distraction for the Packers. Hopefully the madness will stop soon!

David Cook

Congrats to David Cook this year's winner of American Idol. Cook not only was the most consitant contestant this season, he was the nicest. It was a difficult choice in my mind because David Archelta did so well and has a bright future but David Cook is a true American Idol in every sense of the word. Not only in music but as a personal. It was nice to see the emotional side of a rocker. This was a very good season of American Idol. Can't wait for next season!

Grade the Draft

The NFL draft was held this past weekend. The Packers traded there first round pick and chose Jordy Nelson with there first of 3 second round picks. Nelson a wide receiver out of Kansas State is an all around athlete. They then chose a quarterback Brian Broehm with there second pick. It's to early to tell how all of these guys will do but I feel those are 2 solid picks.

I give the draft for the Packers a B+

What do you think?

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Are you sick of the rain yet? It's been going on a couple days now. As I sit here on a Saturday morning preparing to go on the air for Saturday at the 70's, I look outside and it's now snowing out. It's been a long winter and now it continues to drag on into the month of April. Just think, soon we will be complaining it is to HOT.

Btw, make sure you listen in during the lunch hour starting on Monday for a hot new contest and your chance to win free lunch from Taco Bell.

Have a great weekend!

Warm Weather

The home opener for the Brewers and temperatures in the mid 50's. Can't get any better than that. I am hoping finally we are out of that long stretch of cold winter weather. Friday night was a nice night for a walk in the neighborhood. You could hear kids playing outside, people raking there lawns and the smell of campfires burning. The sounds and smell of spring. Glad you are back!

March Madness

As most of you know by now I am a huge sports fan and even bigger college basketball fan. So you know that this is my favorite time of year as a college sports fan. The NCAA tournament and March Madness. I am a die hard Marquette fan and attend a lot of there games through out the season. Being from Wisconsin I also have to cheer for the Badgers (when they aren't playing Marquette). Marquette has a tough draw in the first round with Kentucky a team they beat in 2003 to advance to the Final 4. I keep my fingers crossed for a good game this afternoon. Wisconsin has an easier draw today and I do believe Wisconsin can make a good run in the tournament this year. I feel they are a team laying low but winning the Big Ten does help. WOW, I am ready to watch nothing but college basketball over the next couple of weeks. My Final 4 are: North Carolina, Kansas, Texas and UCLA. My final two are Kanas and UCLA and Kevin Love will be showing the love to Bruin fans by bringing home an NCAA championship for UCLA.

We have an office pool between Joey T, Jon and Mary and myself. Let's hope I can get the bragging rights of the air waves. Stay Tuned!

Who are your final 4?

American Idol

Okay, anyone that listens to my show on a regular basis knows I am a huge American Idol fan. This will be my third season of watching it. I never got into it before because I thought it was kind of boring. Then realized some of the artists I was hearing come from American Idol and now I am hooked. Here is my Idol clip of the season so far.

Super Bust

What a disappointment! The Green Bay Packers had everything they wanted, a 13-3 regular season record, home field advantage, and the cold. One win away from the Super Bowl. A few years ago Brett Favre made the statement "Super Bowl or bust." This year it was bust. The Giants came to Lambeau Field better prepared and for one day, were the better team. They won 9 straight road games and now they are on there way to the Super Bowl. For us Packer fans, we consider what might have been. Another waisted season with a Hall of Fame Quarterback.

See you in 2008!

Happy New Year

Welcome to Saturday at the 70's! Well, that's what I am playing right now on this Saturday morning so I thought I would take a few minutes in between songs to wish everyone a Happy New Year. 2008 is finally here and I hope everyone had a happy and safe Holiday season. If you are like me you are happy the Holidays are over. It's always fun to spend time with friends but after those couple of days I am ready to move on and get back to the daily routine again.

Have a great weekend and we will see you back Monday morning at 10am on K107.1
