As summer comes to a close this week I reflect on what a summer it has been around the area. The ecomonic crisis in our country continues and so much so we've felt the rath in the area. Mercury Marine and it's union had a very difficult decision on trying to come together to get a resolution. That situation has finally settled and now everyone can move forward.
In the weather department it has been very strange. A cooler than normal summer with cold temperatures in the evening. It wasn't until a few weeks ago the weather really turned good and continues.
In the sports department it seems like the Pack is back. We also had our annual summer of Brett Favre staying retired and then changing his mind and coming to play for the Vikings. The Brewers went from a playoff team to possible a losing season.
What a summer it has been. As fall comes upon us, the leaves will fall and the deep winter is coming soon.

Fondue Fest
It's become a fall tradition in Fond du Lac, Fondue Fest. Three years ago it started and has turned into an event that kicks off the fall season. Hundreds of people will gather in downtown Fond du Lac to find the Farmer's Markets, merchants, food and music. There are kids activities in the Fundu-zone.
I look forward to this event every year. I recently read in the paper that Fondue Fest was rated right behind Walleye Weekend as festivals people look forward to.
Enjoy the fall season in downtown Fondy!
